Good going Bruce, I love hardware store engineering. Does it work well?
Hey, Jim
I'm assuming that was you. Sounds like you, and looking at the timestamp...
Works pretty good. I did a little test, jogging and going up and down stairs twice, once handheld and once using the new rig, and then set them up to play side by side onscreen. There's a marked improvement in smoothness using the hardware.
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Marcia at Fox Hardware who took me straight to everything on my parts list lickety-split.
The whole thing cost $21.67, and when I was done making it, not only had I not needed to go back to the store for any forgotten bits; the only thing left over was packaging and one locknut.
Ooh, that felt good!
