Similarity between this item and James Thurber's drawing from "The Pet Department" is probably not an accident.

Lavender Morning

Lavender Morning, originally uploaded by dumbeast.

Somebody has hacked my library account. Only way I can think of to explain this book waiting for me on the hold shelf today. Back cover copy reads

Praise for Jude Deveraux--"Ms Deveraux has always enchanted readers. She instinctively knows what every woman is searching for--her own knight in shining armor."
Believe me, not my usual kind of reading material.

Nobody at work will own up to this.

Huge kudos to whoever did this prank, though. Hat's off to you, sir or ma'am. I wonder whether the April 1, 2009 sticker is a clue.

I'm gonna read this.
