This might be the god damnedest thing that I ever did see

Decorative foliage at Cost Plus in Oakland. There was a bamboo plant in the mensroom. It wasn't quite fake and it wasn't really real, either. It was real bamboo sticks stuck in the potted earth, but they weren't rooted. They were cut off at a convenient length, and then fake fronds & leaves were hot-glued into holes that had been drilled into the sticks.

I just don't know what to think about this. Simulation? Simulacrum? Chimera?
